LOCAL HONEY:

Our bees contribute their honey to Walt Broughton’s “Swarmbustin’ Honey” production, a local legend in fresh, minimally-processed honey.  Walt’s operation, located a few miles north of us, gathers honey from many small beekeepers in Chester County in addition to his own 300 hives.  Our share of honey then gets flavoring from our herbs, especially rosemary, chocolate mint, lemon verbena, and lavender.

We sell our herbal honeys as well as a selection of “Swarmbustin’ Honey” at the farmers markets.  Walt’s “Swarmbustin’ Honey” is also sold at area health food stores and festivals.  For more information on “Swarmbustin’ Honey” go to www.911honey.com

Recent Event

Jenny Loustau and Wick Williams hosted a bee seminar Saturday, March 27, 2010, at their home, Guinea Hen Garden.
The guest speaker /demonstrator was Walt Broughton, owner of Swarmbustin' Honey and manager of about 300 hives in Chester County.

Walt opened several of Jenny's hives to show interested beekeepers how to do spring maintenance, how to avoid a swarm, and how to split a hive.  Sponsored by CFACE (Chester Countians for a Clean Environment), a neighborhood non-profit of which Wick is president, the event was free and open to the public, and about 30 people came.

For other CFACE events, check out their website at www.ccface.org
